Health Equity

Who we are

Superior Health Quality Alliance (Superior Health) is a regional Quality Innovation Network – Quality Improvement Organization (QIN-QIO) under the direction of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. Superior Health’s Health Equity team promotes resources, tools, strategies and interventions that reduce health disparities and advance equity in care practices. With a focus on meaningful implementation of the National Culturally and Linguistically Appropriate Services (CLAS) standards, the team aims to improve the quality of services provided to all individuals.

How we help

Superior Health is committed to improving health and health care for all individuals and communities. That commitment has never been more critical than it is today. The COVID-19 pandemic has magnified the longstanding health disparities our communities face that must be addressed.

Leveraging data, Superior Health works with partners across the care continuum and our communities to identify disparities in health and health care and to design programs and interventions that deliver purposeful action to improve outcomes for all populations.

As key foundational framework, Superior Health embeds a lens of equity in all focus areas. Leveraging person and family engagement, Superior Health is committed to co-designing more equitable systems by partnering with persons and families that truly reflect the communities served, including populations at higher risk for poor health outcomes.

Why engage?

Image depicting equality versus equity. In Equality, three people of different heights stand on equal-size boxes by a tall fence, and only one person can see over. In Equity, boxes are stacked so that each person can see over the fence.
