Our members’ core competencies and expertise have evolved through a decades-long commitment to quality improvement and leadership in large scale quality improvement initiatives as contractors to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). Each of our member organizations have highly-specialized expertise that has evolved to meet the needs of health care consumers, providers, and communities they serve. Members of Superior Health Quality Alliance have deep experience serving as one of three types of organizations in support of CMS – an End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) Network, a Hospital Improvement Innovation Network (HIIN), or a Quality Improvement Organization (QIO).
As an ESRD Network, Midwest Kidney Network mission is to improvement the quality of care provided to people with kidney disease
As HIINs, Illinois Health and Hospital Association, Michigan Hospital Association, Minnesota Hospital Association, and Wisconsin Hospital Association work at the regional, state, national or hospital system level to sustain and accelerate national progress and momentum towards continued harm reduction in the Medicare program, help identify solutions already working and disseminate them to other hospitals and providers.
As a QIN-QIO, most recently organized as Lake Superior QIN, MPRO, MetaStar, and Stratis Health serve as local catalysts for change that are focused on helping achieve national health care quality goals through data driven initiatives in partnership with health care providers, stakeholders, and Medicare consumers.
