Superior Health Quality Alliance (Superior Health) is a regional Quality Innovation Network – Quality Improvement Organization (QIN-QIO) under the direction of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). Superior Health’s Infection Control and Prevention team is committed to improving patient safety to reduce healthcare-associated infections such as Clostridioides difficile, sepsis, urinary tract infections and pneumonia.
Superior Health assists health care and community organizations to effectively respond to COVID-19, including improving public health emergency preparedness in nursing homes and communities and increasing rates of immunization for influenza, pneumonia and COVID-19.
Nursing homes that have engaged with Superior Health to improve health outcomes have recognized improved COVID-19 vaccination rates in staff and residents (compared to those who do not engage with Superior Health) and collectively have avoided healthcare-associated harms.
