Nursing homes are required to have a QAA committee in place that meets at least quarterly and as needed to coordinate and evaluate activities under the QAPI program. In this session, participants will walk through a QAA/QAPI meeting agenda and guide developed by Lake Superior Quality Innovation Network to demonstrate how effective QAA/QAPI committee meetings guide QAPI implementation.
Lake Superior QIN invites you to the final part of the National Nursing Home Quality Care Collaborative's Learning Session 5: This sharing call is designed to give nursing home teams an opportunity to collaborate with colleagues regarding successes and barriers related to the reduction of antipsychotic medications. In addition to hearing from other nursing home teams, Lake Superior QIN experts and Dr. Jane Pederson will be available on the call to help nursing homes overcome barriers they may be having. To get the most out of this collaborative opportunity, come prepared to share successful strategies you have implemented and/or barriers you are encountering in your work to reduce the use of these medications.
Change is hard. Helping patients make positive changes in their health behaviors can feel like the most challenging part of healthcare. It can feel like we are doing all the work, our priorities aren't aligned, and goals are set but never achieved. Motivational Interviewing offers an evidence-based model for effective conversations about change.
