Front Line Forces: Oral Care

Pneumonia is not only a serious infection, but the most common healthcare-acquired infection (HAI) in the United States. These two modules emphasize the importance of oral care in the prevention of pneumonia. The first module is for direct care staff and family members caring for a loved one in the home and provides instruction on how to provide oral care and its role in the prevention of pneumonia. The second module is for licensed staff and discusses how to lead a successful oral care program.
