Workplace Violence Prevention Protecting Our Health Care Workforce

April 30, 2026
11:00 a.m. To 12:00 p.m. CDT
Location: Zoom

Workplace violence continues to be a critical and growing challenge in health care, placing clinical and support staff at significantly higher risk than workers in most other industries. Health care professionals experience workplace violence at five times the rate of other fields (OSHA, 2023), with recent national surveys showing alarming increases in both verbal and physical aggression toward care teams—particularly during and following the COVID-19 pandemic. This session will equip participants with essential knowledge and tools to strengthen workforce safety and organizational preparedness. Participants will leave with a clearer understanding of the scope of workplace violence in health care, actionable strategies to reduce risk, and practical insights to strengthen organizational policies, training, and prevention efforts.
