Sharon Eloranta, MD

Sharon Eloranta, MD, Medical Director of Quality and Safety Initiatives at Qualis Health, will discuss the impact of healthcare disparities on patient care and outcomes, potential links between disparities in care and infections, and personal and institutional strategies for addressing disparities in your hospital.

Audience

Infection preventionists, staff nurses and nursing leaders, hospital executive leaders, social workers, and others in your organization with an interest in healthcare disparities.

Sharon Eloranta, MD, George W. Merck/IHI Fellow, Medical Director, Quality & Safety Initiatives, Qualis Health

Sharon I. Eloranta, MD, is the Medical Director for Quality and Safety Initiatives at Qualis Health in Seattle. She provides leadership and consultation for a variety of patient safety and quality improvement programs including Patient Centered Medical Home initiatives, and the CMS programs focusing on Patient Safety and Reducing Rehospitalizations. Dr. Eloranta is a George W. Merck Fellow at the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) and a member of the IHI faculty. Dr. Eloranta is an associate clinical professor at the University of Washington in the Health Services Department.
