Learn methods of increasing resident and family engagement in nursing homes.

Audience

Nursing home staff.

Objectives­

  1. Understand benefits of including residents/families in quality & safety work.
  2. Review the Include Always™ approach to increase resident/family engagement.
  3. Understand your role in including residents and families as strategic partners.
  4. Be inspired to include residents in new, authentic ways.

Speaker

Lisa Juliar currently works as the Engagement Specialist and Patient Partner for the Minnesota Alliance for Patient Safety. Previously, she partnered with the Minnesota Hospital Association for 4 years as the patient and family engagement consultant and the co-chair of their first Patient and Family Advisory Council. In partnership with Minnesota Hospital Association and the Partnership for Patients, the Include Always™ model was developed and Lisa was able to inspire and educate hospitals and health care systems to partner with patients to increase patient and safety.
