Lake Superior QIN invites you to the second webinar of Learning Session 5: The demographics of long-term care populations are changing: increasingly more younger adults are in need of long-term care. This webinar will cover strategies to identify and address the mental health complexities in this younger long-term care population in order to improve their overall quality of life.

Pre-Work: Complete Antipsychotic Medications Log for all long-stay residents taking antipsychotic medications.

Objectives­

  • Examine the progressive demographic change in long-term care.
  • Identify mental health diagnosis and needs of a younger demographic in long-term care settings.
  • Identify approaches and interventions to best address quality of life and the transitioning culture in long-term care.

Michael Goldsmith, MSW/LMSW, is the regional coordinator of mental health services in West Michigan for Behavioral Care Solutions.
