Minnesota Department of Health and Stratis Health, as part of Lake Superior Quality Innovation Network, are sponsoring the 2017 Minnesota Antibiotic Stewardship Conference. This year, the conference will have a long-term care focus, with content provided in the form of panels and long-term care professionals sharing field experiences with antibiotic stewardship.
Long term care professionals, including physicians, advanced practice providers, and consultant pharmacists. We encourage facilities to send an antibiotic stewardship team, consisting of infection prevention, nursing, prescriber, administration, and pharmacy representation.
- Learn the CDC core elements of antibiotic stewardship for skilled nursing facilities
- Understand new antibiotic stewardship rules and expectations for skilled nursing facilities
- Develop preliminary action plan for launching an antibiotic stewardship program
The keynote speaker is Christopher J. Crnich, MD, PhD, associate professor, Division of Infectious Diseases, Department of Medicine, UWSMPH, Madison, WI, Chief of Medicine, Wm. S. Middleton Veterans Administration Hospital, Madison, WI, nationally recognized expert in long-term care facility antibiotic stewardship.
We have reached venue capacity – registration for this event is closed. If you are on the wait list, we will contact you if space becomes available.
Due to funder contract requirements, we are unable to include complimentary food at this event. In order to cover as much content as possible, we will be having a “working lunch” – please bring food if you did not pre-order box lunches when you registered.
This worksheet is meant to get you thinking about the seven core elements of antibiotic stewardship in LTC facilities. Reviewing the worksheet exercises ahead of time and during the conference will help you put what you hear into the context of your specific facility.
