This webinar will provide an overview of the DSME Program ADA recognition and AADE accreditation process, including key requirements and procedures.

Audience

This webinar is intended for nurses, medical assistants and quality improvement personnel.

Objectives

  • Name two key benefits of obtaining and maintaining DSME program certification (i.e., American Association of Diabetes Educators accreditation or American Diabetes Association recognition).
  • Identify similarities and differences between the two national certifying organizations: ADA and AADE.
  • Name the many variables that affect how long it will take to achieve AADE accreditation or ADA recognition.
  • Name the titles of each of the new 2017 10 National Standards of DSME (NSDSME).
  • Identify a few of the many key criteria for adhering to each of the 10 NSDSME.
