This webinar is the second of a three-part series for participants in the C. difficile Initiative. Webinar 2 of 3 focuses on steps 4-5 of the NHSN enrollment process. As members of this initiative, long term care facilities will help to establish a national baseline for C. difficile in nursing homes, while gaining valuable skills and resources related to quality reporting and improvement.

Audience

Facilities participating in the Nursing Home C. difficile initiative, specifically key staff who will be responsible for submitting data to the National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN).

Objectives

  • Review steps 4-5 of the NHSN enrollment process.
  • Understand how to set up NHSN for reporting.
  • Learn how to add and delete users in NHSN.

Speakers

Janet Lilleberg, senior epidemiologist, Minnesota Department of Health. Janet provides public health and infection prevention consultation and technical assistance to health care providers and the public in topics related to emerging infections and infection control. She provides support to hospitals submitting data in the CDC’s National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN), the nation’s most widely used healthcare-associated infection tracking system. Janet analyzes the data submitted in NHSN, creating reports that identify problem areas and measuring the progress of prevention efforts, with the goal to ultimately eliminate healthcare-associated infections.

Register

Registration for this event is limited to participants of the Nursing Home C. difficile Initiative. For more information about this initiative, including how to join or to contact your state QIN-QIO representative, please visit Join the C. difficile Initiative.
